Corps & Squadrons,
The Battle of Britain (10 Jul to 31 Oct 1940) was the first battle of the Second World War fought mainly in the air. Every year a memorial parade is held in cities and towns across Canada on the third Sunday in September to remember those who fought and sacrificed their lives in this battle. This year marks the 80th anniversary, however due to the COVID-19 outbreak the RCAF will be hosting a virtual national ceremony for the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
Cadet Corps and Squadrons (CC/Sqns) are encouraged to participate in the virtual commemoration:
- The virtual ceremony is 20 Sep 20 at 1030 hrs EDT and will be broadcast on the RCAF Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/RCAF.ARC;
- Cadets/staff are encouraged to login and view the ceremony;
Keep in mind that:
a. No in-person participation is authorized at any Battle of Britain Ceremonies; and
b. Authority is not granted to wear uniforms for this event.
